What Hamssa LLC does
A guide who knows the homes, not a facility with rooms to fill
Hamssa LLC is a senior living placement agency. It does not own or run a care home. Its work is to help you choose one: to turn a confusing search into a short list of licensed homes that suit your parent’s care needs, routine and budget.
Hamssa worked in hospice, palliative care and home health from 2013 to 2024, and has run her placement agency since 2023. She suggests only homes she has interviewed and toured herself, and she will tell you plainly which kinds of homes fit and which do not.

What it costs you
Hamssa’s placement help is free for families.
Hamssa is paid a referral fee by the care home your parent moves into, never by the family. The amount differs from home to home. If the home that best fits your parent pays her nothing, she still recommends it. Ask her about it on the first call: you are entitled to know how any placement agency is paid. Licensed homes only
Every home Hamssa suggests is licensed by the State of California.
Assisted living communities and board and care homes are licensed by the Department of Social Services as residential care facilities for the elderly. You can check any home’s license and inspection reports yourself, and she will show you how. How to check a license

Meet Hamssa Benrekia
Hamssa worked in hospice, palliative care and home health from 2013 to 2024, and has placed families since 2023. She holds an RCFE Administrator Certificate, the certificate California requires of the person who runs a licensed care home, and renews it every two years with 40 hours of continuing education in regulations and dementia care.

No. Hamssa LLC is a senior living placement agency, sometimes called a referral agency. It does not own or run a care home and no one lives at its Torrance address. Placement specialist Hamssa Benrekia helps families find and compare licensed assisted living communities, board and care homes and memory care homes, then goes with them on tours.
Do I have to pay for Hamssa’s help?
No. Hamssa’s help is free for families. She is paid a referral fee by the care home after a move-in, which is the usual arrangement for placement agencies in California. The fee is not billed to your family, the amount differs from home to home, and if the best fit for your parent is a home that pays her nothing, she still recommends it. What is the difference between a board and care home and assisted living?
In California both are licensed by the Department of Social Services as residential care facilities for the elderly (RCFEs). A board and care home is small, usually a house in a residential neighborhood with a handful of residents. An assisted living community is a larger building with more apartments, staff and amenities. My parent is in the hospital and cannot go home. Can Hamssa help?
Yes. Tell her the expected discharge date and who the discharge planner or social worker is. She has worked alongside case workers and social workers during discharges, and can line up homes to visit while the paperwork is prepared. Hospital discharge placement
How do I know a home is licensed?
Every care home Hamssa suggests is licensed by the State of California, and she reads its licensing record, citations and complaints before suggesting it.
